FUNDING AND REIMBURSEMENT
Rates
In the absence of coverage, as indicated below, psychological services are a privately paid expense. Currently, the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (O.H.I.P.) does not pay for the services of a psychologist.
Our hourly fees are as follows:
$190 to $265 per hour depending on the nature of the service provided and the training and experience of the therapist.
Psychological services are a tax-deductible health expense that can be claimed as a medical expense on your personal income tax.
Extended Health Plan
If you, or your partner, are employed, you may have an extended health care plan through an employer. Many of the health care plans pay all or a portion of the costs of seeing a Psychologist with an annual maximum. We recommend that you look in the booklet describing your benefits or talk to your insurance company to find out about your coverage.
In most cases, you pay for our services, are provided with a receipt, and then are reimbursed by your insurance company.
If you have any questions regarding your coverage, please contact our office at 905-836-4555.
